County Launches Immunization Drive
FOR THE RECORD (August 22, 1996): An immunization clinic offered by Spokane County Health District will be Aug. 29 from 3-7 p.m. at Tidyman’s, N2024 Argonne. A story in Tuesday’s paper gave the wrong location.
The Spokane County Health District is launching a citywide immunization drive this week to help Spokane kids prepare for school.
The last two weeks of August are the busiest time of the year for kids to get their vaccination shots, health officials said.
The district has set up five clinics: ShopKo, 4515 S. Regal, 3-7 p.m. Aug. 21; Target, 9770 N. Newport Highway, 3-7 p.m. Aug. 23; Wonderland Golf and Games, 10515 N. Division, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24; Shadle Center, Wellesley and Alberta, 3-7 p.m. Aug. 27; and Tidyman’s, 13014 E. Sprague, 3-7 p.m. Aug. 29.
Kids must get “DPT” (diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus) and polio vaccinations before entering school.
A third shot, protecting against hepatitis B, is recommended and will be mandatory next year.
