Anna S. (Ostrom) Gerry, Oroville, is 100 years old today.

Born Aug. 21, 1896, in San Francisco, she has lived most of her life in the Northwest and the past 24 years in Oroville.

Gerry began school near Fernsdale, Wash., speaking only Norwegian. She was a seamstress and dressmaker in Bellingham until her retirement. She has been a member of Eastern Star for more than 30 years.

Her first husband was George Ehlers, who died in 1943. Her second husband died in 1970.

Gerry has one son, George Ehlers Jr. of Spokane; one grandson and one great-grandson.
