Architects Selected For New Library Branch
Spokane Public Library trustees have selected Tan-Heyamoto Architects to design the new branch library in the Indian Trail area of north Spokane.
The new library will be built next year near the corner of Barnes Road and Indian Trail Road. Design work will begin in September, followed by a series of public meetings for community comment.
That branch is the sixth and final library for which construction was financed by bonds approved by voters in 1990.
Tan-Heyamoto was one of eight design firms that offered bids for the job. The Spokane firm designed the East Side Branch Library, which opened last year.
Another new North Side branch library, at Shadle Park, is now under construction. It’s expected to open this winter.
