Deadly Volcano Hits Papua New Guinea
A volcano erupted Tuesday on a small island off the north coast of Papua New Guinea, killing at least two people.
Emergency workers began evacuating residents of Manam Island after the volcano erupted for a second time Wednesday morning, sending ash and lava over the island.
Flying debris killed two people, and there was an unconfirmed report of a third person being killed, said Leith Anderson, director-general of National Disaster and Emergency Services.
