Delta Plane Makes Unscheduled Stop

From Staff And Wire Reports

A Delta Air Lines flight made an unscheduled stop in Spokane on Thursday after one of the jet’s two engines malfunctioned.

The Boeing 757 carrying 47 passengers was headed to Salt Lake City from Anchorage, Alaska, when the engine went haywire, said Todd Woodard, spokesman for Spokane International Airport.

The pilots shut off the engine and requested an emergency landing in Spokane, Woodard said.

Fire and ambulance crews rushed to the runway, but the 220-seat jet landed without incident about 11:35 a.m. No one was hurt.
