Timberwolves Make Easy Work Of Nampa

Lake City opened the season Friday night with a 67-52 non-league win over Nampa in Boise.
Gabe Hern scored 23 points to spark the T-Wolves in a game that left coach Jim Winger excited about the potential of his team.
“Everybody played really well,” said Winger, whose team returns no starters from last season. “I didn’t expect us to do a lot of the things that we did.”
Nampa (0-1) was led by Ryan Fason with 14 points.
LC used a zone defense throughout the game to smother Nampa’s offense.
Winger pointed to the shooting of Hern and Chad Cheeley, who ended with 15 points, as keys to the victory.
The T-Wolves play Boise High tonight.

Coeur d’Alene opened with a victory on the road over a tough Boise High team in non-league play. The Vikings were led by 17 points from Eddie Gibbs and will play Nampa tonight.

Post Falls evened its record at 1-1 as Travis Bohn scored 17 points in a non-league win at East Valley. East Valley was plagued with 36 fouls in a game that was close throughout.
The Knights (0-1) were led by James Spotted Horse with 23 points, who fouled out. The Trojans also got 16 points from Brason Alexander.
