Shooting Leaves Two People Dead

From Staff Reports

A shooting in a rural area southeast of Cheney left two people dead Saturday night.

The shooting happened inside a double-wide mobile home at 19216 S. Aspen Meadows Road about 8:35 p.m.

The man died inside the home, said sheriff’s deputy David Reagan. The woman, described by Reagan as in her mid-30s, was flown by helicopter to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Neighbors were apparently called to the home to check on the two, discovered them wounded and called deputies. It was not known who called the neighbors.

The victims’ relationship to one another was not immediately known.

Further details also were sketchy. Deputies who surrounded the home were awaiting a search warrant late Saturday before combing it for clues, Reagan said.

Names of the victims were being withheld pending notification of family members. Information on a motive and the murder weapon also was not available.
