Cossette-Led Titans Romp

Senior Kalie Cossette was in all-league form as she led four-time defending champion University to victory in the season-opening Greater Spokane League gymnastics meet Monday night at Rogers.

Cossette won the balance beam, floor exercise and vault en route to compiling a 35.4 score to best teammate Coleen Pierce (33.9) for all-around honors and lead the Titans to a 166.2 score.

North Central was second at 142.95, led by Heidi McCullough, who was third in the all-around (33.15) and second to U-Hi’s Lindsay Brandle on the bars.

U-Hi had three of the five top all-around competitors; the other two were from North Central. NC’s Emily Jones was fifth.

Rogers was third in the team competition at 132.35 and Lewis and Clark fourth with 121.75.

This week’s other GSL four-way is tonight at Mead with Central Valley, Shadle Park and Ferris visiting.
