The National Finals Rodeo will stay in Las Vegas at least through 2010, under a plan to raise the roof of UNLV’s campus arena to increase rodeo seating capacity to 24,500.

The renovation of the Thomas & Mack Arena, which currently seats 17,000 for rodeo, and an increase in prize money helped cement a deal between tourism officials and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Prize money will go from $3.2 million this year to $5 million in 1999.

Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., will be host to the PGA Championship in 2003, the PGA announced.

It will be the second PGA Championship held at the Pittsfordbased country club. Jack Nicklaus won the 1980 PGA at Oak Hill.
