Yard Waste Plan Added, At A Price

Spokane residents can add tree limbs and pine needles to the list of recyclables collected at the curb.

The City Council on Monday unanimously approved the Solid Waste Department’s yard waste collection program for 1997.

Residents who want the added service will pay about $99 a year to have their yard waste hauled away along with the weekly trash.

The service costs $10 a month from March to November, when the program operates. People can pay $3 a month to keep the 96-gallon cart from December through February, or pay $15 to have the city pick up the cart during the off-season.

Information about how to enroll in the program will be provided to residents early next year. , DataTimes
