1996 was a busy year in the Inland Northwest for weathermen and freemen, bank bombers and the Unabomber.

It was a year full of politicians of all stripes, a year of tragedies and triumphs.

There were many big stories in 1996. But what were the Top 10?

Reasonable people can reasonably disagree. That’s why The Spokesman-Review is asking readers to pick the region’s Top 10 stories for the paper’s annual year-in-review feature on Dec. 29.
