Coeur D’Alene Comeback Falls Short

A slow start hurt Coeur d’Alene Tuesday during a 49-45 non-league loss to visiting Moscow.

The Vikings (2-5) trailed by 15 entering the final quarter and crept within three points. CdA’s Kellie Stern, Shaylia Davis and Andrea Wilkey, who combined for 32 points, scored 25 in the second half.

Heather Griggs of Moscow (3-3) scored 14.

Priest River 46, Freeman 39

Missy Ennis had 10 rebounds and the visiting Spartans (4-3) forced 27 turnovers to beat the Scotties (0-6).

Jennifer Wilkerson had 13 rebounds and seven assists for Freeman, which missed 22 of 37 free throws.

Amy Sotin’s 14 second-half points guided the Lumberjacks (3-3) over the visiting Bulldogs (2-5).

Jolie Kunkel added 11 rebounds for St. Maries and provided the defense to slow down Natalie Ward, who led Sandpoint when it beat the Lumberjacks by 20 earlier in the year. Sandpoint’s Bobbie Jo Jensen scored 19.
