Two Hybrid Wolves Kill Caretaker

Two hybrid wolves - part wolf, part dog - turned on their caretaker and killed her while she was trying to get them back into their pen.

Debbie K. Edmonds, 39, was killed by the two hybrid wolves Monday while her two sons, age 13 and 10, watched in horror at their home in the Black Forest area north of Colorado Springs.

Edmonds was dead by the time help arrived. Deputies and state wildlife officers shot both animals.
