New Taco Bell To Ring
A Taco Bell restaurant is under construction on Sullivan Road, just north of Sprague near Future Shop.
The 2,000-square foot restaurant, which is being constructed by Lugo Construction of Seattle, will seat 50 people. The eatery at 133 N. Sullivan will also have a drive-through window.
It is scheduled to open on Jan. 1, said a Taco Bell spokeswoman. This will be the Valley’s second Taco Bell. The first one opened in August at the corner of University and Sprague.
Chiropractor specializes in kids
A chiropractor has leased space in a small shopping strip at Pines and Valleyway.
Dr. Travis Broughton, who specializes in children’s chiropractic, will open his office on Jan. 6.
Broughton’s office has a child-sized playroom and an exam table in the shape of a hobby horse.
The 5,000-square-foot shopping center, located at 321 N. Pines, is owned by Spokane developer Bill Knowles. The center has three additional spaces open. Each store has 1,250 square feet.
Knowles said he is currently looking for a hairdresser, insurance agent and a video store to fill the remaining stores.
New urgent care facility
Rockwood Clinic in the Valley is adding an urgent care facility to its family medical practice.
Construction of the $1.2 million project is underway by Robert B. Goebel General Contractor Inc.
The expansion is to the southeast of the existing clinic, 14408 E. Sprague, and will add 11,000 square feet to the facility.
The urgent care center will be housed in the existing building, which will undergo renovations. The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
New exam rooms and doctors’ offices are scheduled to be completed by April 1997, said Rockwood’s director of public relations, Christine Eriksen. The urgent care center is slated to open in June 1997.
Eriksen said the clinic is in the process of adding staff for their expanded family medicine practice. A pediatrician will join the staff soon, she said.
Globe Motors moves
Globe Motors has moved from its location on Sprague to a renovated building at Pines and Valleyway.
Owner Robert Anzivino said he’s expanded his services to include used car sales in addition to a repair shop.
The building has 5,700 square feet, a large difference from the 3,200 square feet Anzivino was using at 8006 E. Sprague.
