Council Seeks Replacement For Anderson
Spokane City Councilman Chris Anderson gave up his title last week.
Now the council is looking for someone to fill his seat.
Anderson “has resigned effective Dec. 31 and signed his termination papers,” Mayor Jack Geraghty said Monday.
Anderson didn’t attend Monday’s meeting - the council’s last in 1996. Last month, he said he planned to resign because he was moving. He refused to say where.
Geraghty asked city residents interested in replacing Anderson to pick up applications in the mayor’s office on the fifth floor of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
Applications will be accepted through Jan. 10.
The council plans to select three or four applicants for public interviews that will take place in late January.
The appointee would serve through December 1997, when Anderson’s term would have expired.
