As Midshipmen, they’ve studied military theory and tactics, but to visit an actual battle site presented a different sensation for the future officers.

The Navy team visited Pearl Harbor, where World War II began for the United States.

“It’s powerful,” linebacker Clint Bruce said.

On Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese navy staged a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The raid killed 2,290 servicemen at bases throughout Hawaii.

“This is where it happened. The spirit of what happened still lingers here,” Bruce said.
