Christmas Dark, Chilly In Sagle
Santa may have had trouble finding Sagle on Christmas Eve.
The Grinch, or bad weather, stole the power from Washington Water Power Co. customers in this community of about 1,000 people southwest of Sandpoint. By Christmas morning, plenty of people were calling the police and the Bonner County Sheriff’s Department to complain.
One had a turkey in his sink and was trying to thaw the bird, but that effort was being frustrated by the fact that the house was getting colder, Sandpoint police said. The power went off about 5 p.m. Christmas Eve, came back on briefly about 2 a.m. Christmas Day and then went off again.
The problem apparently was caused by an accumulation of snow and ice pulling down power lines. WWP was dispatching crews to find the problem.
There was no estimate Wednesday night of when electricity would be restored. , DataTimes
