Jackson Heroic For Falls Christian

High school girls basketball

Emilee Jackson scored 22 points Saturday, including a pair of free throws with 9 seconds left in overtime, to lift Falls Christian (5-6) over the host Panthers (5-4) in the title game of the Valley Christian Tournament.

FC’s Kara Moate had 27 rebounds. Carmen Evans of VC scored 23 on 10-of-20 shooting from the floor.

Jamie Watkins scored 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor, and added seven rebounds as the host Scotties (1-7) beat the Lancers (1-7) in the consolation game and snapped an eight-game losing streak.

Freeman held Liberty to 38-percent shooting from the field and shot 26 of 42 (62 percent) itself. Liberty’s Jo Cory had 10 rebounds.

Kristen Turner scored 12 of her 24 points in the third quarter, and Katie Supinger added 19 rebounds to guide the host Indians (6-0) over the Lions (1-4).

Weather delayed the tourney by one day. Reardan will play Selkirk for the title tonight at 5:45. The consolation game was canceled because Columbia couldn’t attend.
