Christensen’s Free Throws Help Rogers End 11 Years Of Frustration

Jaime Christensen made two free throws with 15 seconds left Thursday to seal Rogers’ 59-57 Greater Spokane League home win over Lewis and Clark.
Rogers hadn’t beaten LC since the 1984-85 season and had lost 34 of 37 GSL games to the Tigers. For the first time in seven seasons, the Pirates own wins over three GSL rivals.
LC (6-11, 2-11) trailed by nine points with 2 minutes left. Sara Giebel made a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left, but the Tigers couldn’t close the gap further.
Teana Scott had 10 rebounds and six steals for Rogers (4-11, 3-9). LC’s Becki Huddle had 27 points, including 9 of 11 free throws.
