Cfl Leaves American Soil
The Canadian Football League champion Stallions are leaving Baltimore for Montreal, bringing to an end a failed American experiment. The Stallions will begin play at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium next season as part of a nine-team all-Canadian league. Montreal hasn’t had a franchise in the league since the Alouettes folded days into the 1987 season.
Other U.S. franchises in San Antonio, Shreveport, Memphis and Birmingham have also folded.
