Seniors To Compete In Jr. Miss Program
Thirteen Inland Northwest high school seniors have been selected to compete in the Washington Junior Miss Program Feb. 1-3 at Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum:
Danae Anderson, daughter of Victoria Calvert, Chattaroy, attends Riverside High School. Her activities include: ASB vice president, Future Business Leaders of America, cheerleading, basketball, varsity soccer, select/ premier soccer, Olympic Developmental Soccer, Junior Achievement Award, honor roll, Most Valuable Player on Riverside’s soccer team, and team captain.
Keri Bodey of Rosalia High School is the daughter of Mike and Judy Bodey, Tekoa. Her activities include: FFA secretary, High Five, Rainbow, Letter R Club, ASB executive council, Miss Rosalia’s first princess, and Science Club.
Jessica Waddel Caldwell, an honor-roll student at Pullman High, is involved in cheerleading and the service club and is the ASB secretary. She is the daughter of George R. Caldwell and Beth Waddel, both of Pullman.
Dana D. Erickson, daughter of Norman A. and Gloria D. Erickson, LaCrosse, attends LaCrosse High. Her activities include: FFA president, varsity basketball and football cheerleader, National Honor Society, 4-H, ASB vice-president, Palouse Empire Fair Queen 1995-96 and the 1995 Homecoming Queen.
Ashley Lawhead, Tekoa High School, is the daughter of Dan and Melissa Lawhead. Her activities include: National Honor Society president, Future Problem Solving Team, FFA secretary and treasurer, Tekoa Community Float Princess and Homecoming Queen.
Theresa Lyons, Ferris, is involved in track and field, DECCA and Rotary Leadership and has been Debate Club president, captain of the cross-country team and president of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Jim Lyons and Cheryl Lyons, both of Spokane.
Leigh Allyn McLaughlin, daughter of Don and Janet McLaughlin, Chewelah, attends Jenkins High School. She is a varsity football trainer/manager and ASB historian and participates in Future Business Leaders of America, Catholic church youth group, and track and field, and was a member of the homecoming royalty.
Heather E. Meade Newport High, is the daughter of John M. and Sandra L. Meade. Her involvements include: show choir, Honor Society president, ballet, Junior Achievement, track and field team captain, co-ed soccer, National Young Leaders and SADD.
Chanda Lyn Miller, Colfax High, is involved with volleyball, basketball, softball, FFA, second team All-League Academics, Girl’s League and musicals. She is on the honor roll, was a Girl’s State nominee and listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She is the daughter of Roger and Marilyn Miller.
Lindsey Dawn Rukke, Colville High, is the daughter of Robert and Gail Rukke. Her activities include: basketball, soccer, piano, ASB, Natural Helpers, honor roll and the Japanese Language Club.
Mary Scheuerman, St. John-Endicott High, is a member of the school’s volleyball team, Stop Trashing Our Planet Environmental Group, National Honor Society, honor band, cheerleading; she was homecoming princess and recognized in the Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She is the daughter of Richard and Lois Scheuerman, St. John.
JaNae Wagner, daughter of Russ and Carla Wagner, Farmington, attends Oakesdale High. She is involved in National Honor Society, track and field, cross country, jazz band, honor roll and the National Piano Playing Auditions and is ASB president.
Leah T. Wiiest, Deer Park High, is the daughter of Steven G. Wiiest, Spokane, and Dianne E. Allard, Deer Park. She participates in varsity volleyball, Junior Olympic volleyball, and choir, is in Who’s Who in Sports, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Key Club, All Conference First Team Volleyball, Math Club, and the National Honor Society, and was nominated for the All-State Volleyball and Youth Leadership Forum.
