Richard Erickson Sr. Spokane

Service for Richard J. “Rich” Erickson Sr., 52, is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Erickson, who died Thursday, was born in Spokane.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He worked for AT&T as a long distance technician for 30 years.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was quarter master of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10493 in Veradale.

Mr. Erickson is survived by his wife, Dee Erickson; four sons, Joe and Rich Jr, both of Spokane, Greg of Greenacres and Jeff; two daughters, Lori of Belfair, Wash., and Jan of Great Falls, Mont.; his mother, Adeline Erickson of Spokane; one sister, Dorothy Mitcham of Spokane; three brothers, Clifford, Gordon and Bruce Erickson, all of Spokane; and eight grandchildren.

Ralph Sontag Spokane

Service for Ralph E. Sontag, 73, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Sontag, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.

He graduated from Rogers High School and worked for Washington Water Power and Power City Electric as an electrician.

He had served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Sontag was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 73, Eagles Lodge No. 2 and American Legion Post No. 9.

His wife, Ruth, died in 1987.

He is survived by one son, Dave Sontag of Spokane; two daughters, Kathleen Cole of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Karol Englehardt of Spokane; and five grandchildren.

Scott Waterhouse Spokane

Family service for D. Scott Waterhouse, 30, was held Thursday in Rochester, N.H. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery in the spring. R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Waterhouse, who died Jan. 23, was born in Kittery, Maine.

He graduated from high school in Rochester and had lived in Spokane for the past 13 years. He had briefly lived in Coeur d’Alene.

He served in the Air Force for 10 years as a survival instructor and spent several summers teaching at the Air Force Academy. Most recently he worked in construction.

Mr. Waterhouse is survived by his wife, Valerie Waterhouse of Gig Harbor, Wash.; three sons, Kyle and Bridger Waterhouse, both of Palouse, Wash., and Brock Waterhouse of Portland; two daughters, Sierra and Rebecca Waterhouse, both of Kennewick; his father and stepmother, David and Kathy Jean Waterhouse of Barrington, N.H.; his mother and stepfather, Eve and Parker Colby of Barrington; two sisters, Heidi Waterhouse of Landover, Md., and Nicole LeBright of Tarawa Terrace, N.C.; three half-brothers, Gregory Lavoie of Lee, N.H., Theodore Lavoie of Richmond, Calif., and Paul Colby of Barrington; and his grandparents, Hazel Waterhouse, and Grant and Ruby Grant Fizz, all of Rochester.

Delores Berger Spokane

Wake for Delores Berger, 70, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit. Funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Spokane Tribal Longhouse with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wellpinit. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Berger died Wednesday. She was born DeSmet, Idaho.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Brown of Spokane, and Joene Zepata of Casa Grande, Ariz.; one son, James McMurtrey of Ford, Wash.; two sisters, Chris Samuels of Ford, and Tina Frank of Omak, Wash.; two brothers, Louie Michell of Desmet, Idaho, and Augie Michell of Ford; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ida Clemenhagen Spokane

Service for Ida Clemenhagen, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clemenhagen died Thursday. She was born in Naples, Idaho.

She lived in Spokane from 1945 until the mid-1950s. She then lived in Deary, Idaho, Milton-Freewater, Ore., and Potlatch, Idaho. She returned to Spokane 10 years ago.

She worked as a sales clerk for Stanley Home Products for 20 years and was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

Her first husband, George Wilson, died in 1963. Her second husband, Robert Clemenhagen, died in 1986.

Survivors include two sons, James Wilson of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Harold Wilson of Spokane; one daughter, Rena Gunning of Corning, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Norma Mann of Clarissa, Minn., and Lorraine Gustafson of Juliaetta, Idaho; one stepson, Albert Clemenhagen of Kendrick, Idaho; one brother, Jim Babb of Vallejo, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Ione Preston Post Falls

Memorial service for Ione Preston, 74, is pending. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Preston died Wednesday from an extended illness.

William Ruddach Spokane

No public service will be held for William James “Bill” Ruddach, 77, at his request. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of cremation.

Mr. Ruddach, who died Wednesday, was born in Dalkena, Wash., and grew up in Newport, Wash.

He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He worked in Spokane as a refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic. He worked at Montgomery Ward, Jensen-Byrd, Arctic and Ace Refrigeration. He worked in civil engineering at Fairchild Air Force Base for 17 years and retired in 1973.

He married Ann Mohan in 1938. They owned and operated an apartment house in Browne’s Addition for many years.

He built a second home at Cape Horn on Priest Lake in 1952 and owned the first snowmobile in the area.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann; one sister, Elsie Senter of Burns, Ore.; two brothers, Earle Ruddach of Newport, and George Ruddach of Long Beach, Calif.
