Kitchen Fire Destroys Mobile Home

Fire crews from Hauser, Rathdrum and Post Falls were unable to save a mobile home that caught fire Sunday afternoon.

“It’s a total loss,” said Hauser Fire Chief Myron Richardson. He estimated damage at $20,000.

Richardson said the fire was probably sparked by an electrical problem in the kitchen.

A neighbor saw smoke at about 3:30 p.m. coming from the home at 6995 First Ave. When fire crews arrived, flames were shooting from the window.

No one was home at the time, and the name of the owner wasn’t immediately available. It took firefighters 30 minutes to knock down the flames.
