Central Valley Romps To Victory Over G-Prep

Central Valley took control in the third quarter and cruised to a 70-30 victory over Gonzaga Prep in a Greater Spokane League girls basketball game at the Arena Tuesday.
The fifth-ranked Bears (15-2, 12-2) built a 29-22 halftime lead behind Crystal Lee, who had 12 points before sitting out the final half of the second quarter with a minor injury.
Lee, the leading scorer in the league, came back in the third quarter and help spearhead a 19-4 surge to break the game open.
All 10 CV players scored with Lee finishing at 21. Carrie Sanders added 12 and reserve guard Andrea Kallas added 10. The Bears finished 18 of 19 from the foul line.
Prep, which made just 11 of 25 free throws, was led by Jennifer Williams with 10 points.

Stacy Clinesmith scored a game-high 12 points to pace the fourth-ranked Panthers (15-2, 12-1) to a win over the host Pirates (4-12, 3-10).
Jennifer Clark and Jennifer Bennett each added 11 points for Mead.
Rogers was led by the nine points of Jaime Christensen.

Sophomore Amy George tossed in 12 of her game-high 16 points in the third quarter to lead the Saxons (14-3, 11-2) to a win over the visiting Indians (0-17, 0-13).
Ferris’ Jennifer Swinton finished with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Teammate Stephanie Williams grabbed eight rebounds.
Erin Schumacher tallied 13 points to lead North Central.

Sheridan in hospital
Shadle Park coach Linda Sheridan was hospitalized Tuesday morning with pneumonia. She is expected to be in Sacred Heart Medical Center until at least Friday and is questionable for the Highlanders’ home game against CV.
