Ambassador Acquires Competing Company

Spokane-based Ambassador Programs Inc. has purchased another company that provides travel services to non-profit People to People International Inc.

American People Ambassador Programs Inc. has offices in Birmingham, Ala., and Winnebago, Ill.

John Ueberroth, chief executive officer of the Spokane operation, said the acquisition will enhance the company’s growth opportunities.

American People President Marc Bright, he added, will also bring 23 years of experience in travel into the expanded operation, as well as expertise in direct mail.

Ambassador Programs Director of Finance Peg Sestero said the acquisition will not change the scope of the Spokane company’s operations.

Ambassador Programs is itself a subsidiary of Ambassadors International Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif., which specializes in educational travel programs.
