Volunteers Recognized For Outstanding Service

Adult volunteers of the Inland Empire Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls recently received national awards in recognition of their outstanding service.

Mary Lou Redmond, council president, presented the following awards:

Marcia Asmussen received the Charlotte Joy Farnsworth Award for outstanding contributions in district operations.

Tannis Witherspoon was awarded the Sabago Pin for service in camping and outdoor programs.

Lora Krauss and Molly Russell received the Ernest Thompson Seton Award for contributions to the council as a whole.

The Shawnequas Award for service to clubs and leaders was presented to Chris Birrenkott, Bonnie Brown, Debbie Flory, Kris Graham, Diane Gross, Kathy Korth, Kay Packer and Terry Vosberg.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to Aleta Anderson and Carolyn Mustello.

Dennis Davis of Kelley, Davenport and Toole, P.S.; Capt. Fred Finney of Coeur d’Alene Cruises; Edwin Litteneker of Brown & Litteneker; and Edwin Wroe of Lukins & Annis received plaques of appreciation.

Blue Ribbon Awards for service above and beyond the call of duty were presented to Brian Bays, Cleo Clizer, Donna Froelich, Tamara Korth, Peggy Lewis and Holly Schoenberger.

Maria Goos received the John Collier Award in recognition of her contributions in finance.

Gail Brunmeier, Mike Collins, Melinda Norman, Neal Smith and Sandra Storseth received the Hiiteni Award for service to youth and community.

The Good News Award for public relations went to Harv Clark and Dale deViveiros.

Wakan Awards for leadership and service were presented to Bonnie Brown, Betsy Carosella, Lori Douglas, Betsy Fulwider, Mary Griffith, Tina Horn, Robbie Newell, Liz Pluid, Chris Rehwald, Art Seaton, Kim Strom, Donna Syron and Susan Temby.

Mary Lou Redmond received the Anita Lindner Award for excellence of service by example.

The Heart Award, given to staff members who deliver outstanding service, went to Rose Bailey and Lee Hopkins.

Gladys and Carl Carbon, Joan Engebretson, Dixie Miller, Marallis Pederson and Jay Strange were presented with the One Person Can Make a Difference Award for unique contributions of staff and volunteers.

The Luther Halsy Gulick Pin, the highest form of recognition given by the council, was presented to Helen Smith and Philip Christy Smith.

Jennifer Anne Beck, Spokane, made the fall-quarter honor roll at Western Washington University in Bellingham. She received a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
