Barn Fire Kills Boy, 4, And Puppies

A 4-year-old boy playing with puppies died in a barn fire that erupted minutes after his parents say they last checked on him.

The two puppies also died in the fire Saturday afternoon. The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately determined.

Neighbors noticed the fire in the barn about 100 feet from the family home and called firefighters. By the time trucks arrived, the barn was engulfed in flames, Fire Chief Paul Ritchie said.
