Dollar Turns Mixed As Mark Gains
Political and economic uncertainty in Europe drove traders to the safety of the German mark Tuesday, leaving the dollar mixed against major currencies.
The dollar dipped against the mark and rose a fraction against the yen following a day of choppy, thin trading.
By 4 p.m. in New York, the dollar was trading at 1.4730 marks, down from 1.4764 on Monday. It finished at 106.81 yen, compared with 106.80 the day before.
