Donald Pearson Spokane
Memorial service for Donald L. Pearson, 71, is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pearson, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.
He graduated from North Central High School and Eastern Washington University. He received an education degree and taught at Grant Elementary and Rogers High School and in the Riverside School District. He also worked as a revenue officer with the Internal Revenue Service.
He served in the Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Pearson was a member of Liberty Lake Over the Hill Gang golf club.
Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife, Frieda; his mother, Amy Pearson; and one brother, Leonard Pearson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Ernest Boswell Spokane
Service for Ernest F. “Ernie” Boswell, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fourth Memorial Church. Private burial will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Boswell, who died Feb. 9, was born in Mount Hope, Wash.
He graduated from high school in Plummer, Idaho. He served in the Army and, after World War II, married Evelyn Daniel.
He worked for Kaiser Aluminum from 1946 until 1980, when he retired.
He was a 50-year Spokane resident.
Mr. Boswell is survived by his wife; three daughters, Charlaine Siefert of Davis Lake, Wash., Karen Mitchell of Reno, Nev., and Debra Randell of Spokane; one brother, Roy Boswell of Spokane; one sister, Nora Boswell of Davis Lake; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ann Murphy Spokane
Service for Ann E. Murphy, 47, is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Miss Murphy died Monday. She was a lifetime Spokane resident.
She is survived by her cousins, Jerry and Marge Murphy, and Molly and Craig Lundberg, all of Spokane.

Harry Schiffner Spokane
No service will be held for Harry William Schiffner. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schiffner, 78, died last Wednesday.
He was born in Walla Walla and had lived in Spokane since 1917.
He was a self-employed truck driver.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6.
Mr. Schiffner is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rose Schiffner; one stepdaughter, Peggy Munson of Spokane; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Dennis Hahn Spokane
Memorial service for Dennis P. Hahn, a 45-year Spokane resident, will be at noon Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
Mr. Hahn, 78, died Feb. 6. He was born in Challis, Idaho.
He moved to Forks, Wash., with his family when he was young, and then to Okanogan, Wash., where he graduated from high school. In Okanogan he worked for a grocery store and was a member of the Jaycees. He moved to Spokane in 1951.
Mr. Hahn owned the Garland Toy Store from 1951 until 1969. He then worked for Renfro Gardens and retired in 1977.
His first wife, Ruth Hahn, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Audrey Hahn; two sons, Roger Hahn of Spokane and Reginald Hahn of Mount Vernon, Wash.; one stepson, Don Banks of Spokane; one brother, Charles Hahn of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Darrell ‘Bernie’ Everhart Spokane
Memorial service for Darrell B. “Bernie” Everhart, 71, was Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Everhart, a 51-year Spokane County resident, died Thursday. He was born in Marcus, Iowa.
He served in the Navy from 1942 until 1957 and received the Purple Heart. He joined the Air Force in 1957 and retired in 1968.
He then sold real estate with Alvin J. Wolff and Pioneer Realtors.
Mr. Everhart was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
His first wife, Vivian Everhart, died in 1980.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lois Everhart; one daughter, Suzan Mellish, and one son, Bernie Everhart, both of Spokane; one stepdaughter, Sharon Windhorst of Spokane; one brother, James Everhart of Gretna, Neb.; two sisters, Ellen Murray of Alliance, Neb., and Lela Mae Everhart of Omaha, Neb.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Ida Whiteley Coeur d’Alene
At her request, no service will be held for Ida E. Whiteley, 97. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Whiteley, who was born in Nebraska, died Sunday.
She traveled to Idaho by covered wagon with her family and settled in White Bird, Idaho.
Mrs. Whiteley had lived in Council, Idaho, before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1921. She had owned and operated Whiteley’s Food Market, Whiteley’s Appliances and Whiteley’s Real Estate.
She later owned and operated Whiteley’s Market on Seventh St.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Claude, in 1949.
Survivors include a son, Charles Whiteley of Coeur d’Alene; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Leah Morgan Sandpoint
Service for Leah Francis Morgan, 77, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Sandpoint Assembly of God Church. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Morgan, who was born in Walnut Grove, Minn., died Monday.
She grew up in Iowa, where she graduated from high school.
She moved to Sandpoint in 1946 and worked as a nurse’s aide at Sandpoint Manor, retiring in 1983.
Mrs. Morgan enjoyed music and playing the piano and accordion. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Harold; two sons, Ronald of Sandpoint and Larry of Bothell, Wash.; two daughters, Laurine Montgomery and Darlene Spade, both of Sandpoint; two brothers, Argil and Vernon Martin; three sisters, Ardis Carey, Maytha Madison and Opal Marley; and five grandchildren.
Lydia Walsh Greenacres
Service for Lydia M. Walsh, 84, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 24th and Grand Boulevard in Spokane. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Spokane. Yates Funeral Home of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Walsh, who was born in Fairfield, died Monday.
She had previously lived in the Silver Valley and lived in the Spokane Valley for 80 years.
Mrs. Walsh enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1963.
Survivors include two brothers, Erwin and George Bliesner, both of Spokane; and three sisters, Freda Emtman of Coeur d’Alene, Alice Painter of West Virginia and Elsie Berry of Spokane.

Helen Swanson Spokane
Service for Helen C. Swanson, 85, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Swanson, who died Sunday, was a lifetime Spokane resident. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Robert Swanson, died in 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Swan of Diamond Lake, Wash., and Patricia McIrvin of Ellensburg; one sister, Edith Mathews of Spokane; two brothers, William Milliken of Spokane and Donald Milliken of Post Falls; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Robert Toenies Spokane
Service for Robert J. Toenies, 65, is set for 3 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Toenies, who died Saturday, was born in Saint Rosa, Minn.
He retired from the Air Force and had served in the Korean War.
He was a 30-year Spokane resident and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
Mr. Toenies is survived by wife, Patricia; one son, Michael Toenies; one daughter, Judith Ann Honican of Seattle; one brother, Lawrence Dreis of St. Cloud, Minn.; one sister, Loretta Hanson of Florida; and two grandchildren.

Alfred Howard Potlatch, Idaho
Service for Alfred R. Howard, 83, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Potlatch Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Freeze Cemetery, north of Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home of Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howard died Sunday in Alabama, where he had lived since 1994.
He was born in Potlatch and graduated from high school in Potlatch. In 1939 he married Adeline Boller. She died in 1990.
Mr. Howard worked for the Washington, Idaho and Montana Railway as an engineer for 47 years and retired in 1974.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Evergreen Lodge No. 124, the Elks Lodge, Shriners, the Princeton Grange and White Pine Court No. 6 Order of Amaranth.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Howard of Florence, Ala., John Howard of Potlatch and Julian Howard of Kooskia, Idaho; one brother, James Howard of Spokane; two sisters, Wilma Bruun of Lewiston and Nila LaBelle of Culdesac, Idaho; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
