Stockton 3-Pointer Decisive
NBA
As always, John Stockton was looking to pass the ball first. The San Antonio Spurs wished he had done so.
Stockton, the NBA’s career assists leader, faked the pass, leaned in and swished a 3-pointer with five-tenths of a second left in overtime Tuesday night to send the Jazz to a 114-111 victory over the Spurs in San Antonio.
Stockton’s winning field goal was Utah’s only lead of the overtime. Stockton had three steals, moving within four of breaking Mo Cheeks’ all-time NBA record.
