San Diego 76, Portland 68

Brian Bruso scored 14 points and the Toreros used a 14-3 run in the final 3:22 to beat the Pilots at San Diego 76-68.

David Fizdale had five points and two assists to spark San Diego down the stretch. The Toreros made eight of their 10 foul shots in the decisive run.

The loss was costly for Portland, which fell two games behind co-leaders Santa Clara and Gonzaga.

Bruso, who made six of his seven field goal attempts, also had seven rebounds.

Teammate Ryan Williams had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Fizdale, who had seven assists, and Brian Miles scored 11 points each for the winners.

Chivo Anderson and Lemont Daniels led Portland with 12 points each. Anderson also grabbed 10 rebounds.
