Man, Teen Girl Arrested After Chase

From Staff Reports

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man early Saturday who hit a patrol car after leading officers on a chase through the Spokane Valley.

Victor C. Douglas, 29, was charged with attempting to elude deputies and driving with a revoked license.

Deputies noticed a car driving around closed businesses near Broadway Avenue and Houk Road about 4:55 a.m., said Lt. Chan Bailey. When deputies tried to stop the car, it fled.

The car led deputies on “a relatively low-speed pursuit,” Bailey said. Speeds reached 60 miles per hour on Interstate 90 and 40 mph on Sprague Avenue and side streets.

Deputies stopped the car in the 1500 block of South Park Road - when it hit a patrol car - and arrested Douglas, Bailey said.

Both cars suffered minor damage. No one was injured.

A teenage girl, who was a passenger in the car, was also booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center on a Superior Court warrant. , DataTimes
