County Animal Shelter Offers Low-Cost Sterilization Certificates

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Spokane County animal shelter is offering reduced-price sterilization certificates to county residents Tuesday in conjunction with Spay Day USA.

Certificates will be sold to the first 50 customers for $10, covering the cost of the sterilization surgery at participating county veterinarians. Sterilization surgery for larger animals can cost up to $80, said county animal control director Nancy Sattin.

To be eligible, pets must have a current pet license and reside in Spokane County. City and Millwood residents are not eligible.

The animal shelter is located at 2521 N. Flora Rd. in the Spokane Valley. Shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

All certificates must be purchased in person and only one will be to each family.
