Spokane Defeats Cougars Chiefs Stretch Lead In West With Sixth Straight Road Win
Jan Hrdina scored twice as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-2 in a Western Hockey League game on Wednesday night.
With the win, Spokane opened a four-point lead on Kamloops in the WHL West standings and tied a club record with its 20th road win of the season. The Chiefs, winners of six straight road games, visit Kelowna this weekend.
Spokane took the lead by scoring three unanswered goals in the second period. Neither team scored in the first period.
Aren Miller stopped 15 shots in the Chiefs’ net while Prince George’s Chris Mason stopped 34.
