Dollar Rises Against Yen, Mark
The dollar ended mostly higher against leading currencies in quiet dealings Tuesday, strengthening as the Japanese yen came under pressure in Europe.
Investors have been seeking currencies with better value than the yen, causing the Japanese currency to sink in recent days, traders said. The trend continued Tuesday.
In late New York trading, the dollar was quoted at 103.92 yen, up from 103.40 late Friday. The dollar was also changing hands in New York at 1.4367 marks, up from 1.4366 on Friday.
