Man Finds Winning July Lotto Ticket In His Dresser Drawer

From Staff And Wire Reports

An Auburn man has claimed the $7 million Lotto jackpot from July 15th, just days before his winning ticket would have become worthless.

Also on Tuesday, a Richland man picked up his first check for the $6 million Lotto prize from Saturday’s drawing.

Frederic Allen, 56, a commercial fisherman who lives in Auburn, said he noticed the Lotto ticket in his dresser drawer and decided to check the numbers. He turned in the ticket at the Washington State Lottery’s Seattle office and got the first of 20 annual checks for $252,000, after taxes.

Allen, who is single, plans to help family members with some of his new riches.
