Woman Accused Of Stabbing Roommate With Kitchen Knife

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 49-year-old Spokane woman is accused of stabbing her roommate three times with a kitchen knife Wednesday during an argument over drinking, police said.

Michele L. Schuetrum was jailed after police found her walking the street with a knife, while her roommate was hospitalized for surgery.

Authorities said Schuetrum stabbed the man, 35, in the stomach, buttock and arm after accusing him of coming home drunk.

Police wouldn’t release the man’s name or the exact address of the pair, who lived in the 2000 block of East Courtland.

The victim was taken to a local hospital after he telephoned for help.

Schuetrum was arrested near her home on a charge of first-degree assault shortly after the 1 a.m. incident, said Police Lt. Jerry Oien.

“An officer spotted her at Crestline and Courtland,” Oien said. “She had the knife in her hand.” , DataTimes
