Fed Postpones Economic Reports
Although the Federal Reserve is not among the agencies involved in the partial government shutdown, some central bank operations are being disrupted by the massive furloughs.
The Fed has postponed its December industrial production report scheduled for release Jan. 17 because it cannot get needed data from another government agency that has been closed, spokesman Bob Moore said Thursday.
The industrial production report includes data from the Labor Department’s monthly employment report, originally scheduled for release today but delayed indefinitely because the department is included in the shutdown.
