L. Phyllis Elliott Wardner, Idaho

Memorial service for L. Phyllis Elliott, 79, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Kellogg. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elliott, who was born in Alberta, died Sunday.

She moved to the Silver Valley from Spokane in 1939.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a custodian for the Wardner School for many years.

Mrs. Elliot sang in the choir at the United Church of Kellogg and was a member of the Women’s Business Association. She was past president of the Kellogg Eagles Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William.

Survivors include a son, W. David Elliott of Coeur d’Alene; three daughters, Carol Case of Kent, Wash., June Thompson of Illinois and Dea Haight of Coeur d’Alene; one brother, William Burroughs of Spokane; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the United Church of Kellogg, 525 W. Cameron Ave., Kellogg, ID 83837.

Melvin Stecks Spokane

Service for Melvin T. “Bud” Stecks, 74, is scheduled for noon today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, with burial to follow. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stecks died Saturday.

He retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Stecks; two daughters, Vickie Sammeth of Vaughn, Wash., and Bonnie Deife of Spokane; two sisters, Lucille Hines and Hilma Gannaway, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Patrick Beha Cheney

Memorial Mass for Patrick John Beha, 22, was Sunday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Arrangements and cremation are being handled by Cheney Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Beha, a longtime Cheney resident, died Thursday.

He graduated from Cheney High School in 1991 and was a senior, on the Dean’s List, at Eastern Washington University, majoring in business. He was awarded the Mike Jarms Memorial Scholarship for Athletics.

He was employed at the Ramada Inn.

Survivors include his parents, Jerald and Barbara Beha of Cheney; two brothers, Jeffrey Beha of Centralia, Wash., and Daniel Beha of Cheney; and his grandparents.

Leonard Moore Post Falls

Private service for Leonard W. Moore, 76, will be Wednesday at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.

Mr. Moore, a lifetime Idaho resident, died Saturday.

He was born in Garwood, Idaho, and later moved to Post Falls. He worked as a millwright at Kaiser Aluminum’s Trentwood plant for 30 years before retiring in 1977.

Mr. Moore loved hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lillian; daughter, Linda Wilhelm of Post Falls; brother, Harold Sturges of Arizona; three sisters, Allene Van Horn of Coeur d’Alene, Louisa Brown of Arizona and Penny Burgen of Post Falls; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Earnie Hurley Latah

Service for Earnie M. Hurley, 77, is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Hennessey Valley Funeral home. Burial will be at the Farmington (Wash.) Cemetery.

Mr. Hurley, who was born in Missouri, died Saturday.

He was a resident of Latah for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hurley; four sons, Gary Hurley of Oxnard, Calif, Dan Hurley of Kirkwood, Mo., Steven Hurley of Spokane and E. David Hurley of Pocatello, Idaho; one daughter, Karen Nealy of Malad City, Idaho; one brother, Ollie Hurley of Farmington; two sisters, Mabel Pearson of Blue Springs, Mo., and Mildred Mowell of Warsaw, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Robert McMath Spokane

At his request, no service for Robert L. McMath, 66, will be held. Cremation is planned. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McMath, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Saturday.

He graduated from Rogers High School and worked for Washington Water Power from 1951 until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of the Spokane Bowling Association, the Spokane Bowling Hall of Fame and the WWP Trailblazers.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. McMath; three daughters, Cheryl A. Vail of Lewiston, Pamela McMath of Denver and Nancy Fleming of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Douglas McMath and Donald McMath, both of Spokane; and eight grandchildren.

Henry Moe Spokane

Service for Henry W. “Hank” Moe, 69, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Fourth Memorial Church. Private burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moe, born in Canada, died Saturday.

He served in the Navy in World War II.

After the war he graduated from Montana State University. He worked for Boeing, Kaiser Aluminum and the Bonneville Power Administration.

He designed scrubbing towers and transport crucibles for Kaiser that are used in Spokane. He also was involved in establishing aluminum plants in Ghana.

He retired from Kaiser in 1980 and from Bonneville Power in 1991.

He was a member of Fourth Memorial Church.

Survivors include five children, David Moe of Spokane, Donald Moe of Seattle, Linda Finn of Pullman, Robert Moe of Redmond, Wash., and Jonathan Moe of Santa Monica, Calif; three sisters, Ethel Dineen of Seattle, Florence Hughes of Portland and Ruth Macek of Great Falls, Mont.; and nine grandchildren.

Melvin Farmer Spokane

Service for Melvin W. Farmer, 68, is scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Bethany Presbyterian Church, with cremation to follow. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Farmer, born in Springfield, Tenn., died Friday.

An area resident for 40 years, he owned and operated Beauty Care Auto Parlor from 1970 to 1975. He also worked for Stuckeys Transmission, Layrite and Super 8 Motels.

He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and Perfect Ashler Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Claire Farmer; five daughters, Debra Williams of California, Erika Garrett, Vicki French and Shelley Nickson, all of Seattle, and Michelle Farmer of Spokane; three sons, Kevin Farmer of Spokane, Traycee Farmer of California and Jason Farmer of Montana; one brother, Joe Farmer of Springfield, Tenn., three sisters, Lois Jones and Jenny White, both of Nashville, Tenn., and Joan Hardin of Springfield, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Allen Goodno Newport, Wash.

No service will be held for Allen J. Goodno, 62, at his request. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home of Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Goodno, born in Spring Grove, Minn., died Dec. 25 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a long-haul truck driver.

He married Sandra McDonald in 1962.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sarah Fyler of Germany, Jernerah Hare of Cocolalla, Idaho, and Suzanah Borngraeber of Priest River, Idaho; one son, Jonah of Priest River; and nine grandchildren.

Lenora Croy Spokane

No service was held for Lenora Croy, 103, at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Croy, who was born in Wadena, Minn., died Dec. 27.

She graduated with a pharmacy assistant’s degree from Marquette University in 1912 and worked as a pharmacist for several years.

She married Howard Croy, and they moved to Spokane in 1979.

Her husband died in 1984.

Survivors include three nieces, Carol Giles, Lois Robinson and Susie Lee, all of Spokane; and three nephews, Everett Wilcox, Lyle Wilcox and Guy Wilcox, all of Spokane.
