Coleman Out Indefinitely
Philadelphia 76ers forward Derrick Coleman, hobbled by a sprained right ankle for the past month, will miss at least another week after his ankle was put in a cast. Bone scans and X-rays have shown that Coleman does not have a broken ankle, according to team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy.
The Portland Trail Blazers signed ex-NBA players Rumeal Robinson and Elmore Spencer.
Robinson has played the last two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association and was averaging 22.9 points per game with the Connecticut Pride. He fills the void left by the injury to backup point guard Randolph Childress, who underwent surgery to repair his dislocated left shoulder on Tuesday.
Robinson, the 10th pick in the 1990 NBA draft, played five seasons in the NBA with Atlanta, New Jersey and Charlotte.
