Dear Heloise: As a businessman with several suits, I have spent a lifetime trying to find the right tie rack to organize my ties. No matter what I bought, I still had lots of ties I didn’t use and could never find the right one in the morning.

Now, after all these years, I found a no-cost solution. Each suit has a nice coat hanger. I simply loop only those ties that go with that suit around the coat hanger carrying the suit. That way, when I select a suit in the morning, I can choose from one of the ties that go with that suit. And, even if I have four or five ties that go with that particular suit, I only thumb through these, not 30 or 40 ties.

Any ties that don’t go with a suit are given to charity or placed in a drawer for future use in case I buy a new suit. - James Johnstone, Houston, Texas
