Cheve Meyer Earns Eagle Scout Award
Cheve Meyer, son of Gene and Marquita Meyer, Spokane, recently earned his Eagle Scout rank. Meyers’ Eagle Scout project was painting rooms and hallways in the education wing of Manito United Methodist Church.
Meyer, a freshman at Western Washington University studying the biological sciences, graduated from Lewis and Clark High School with honors. A fouryear member of the Lewis and Clark band, he was awarded the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis award for musical excellence.
Marcia Anderson has been named chief curator of the Minnesota Historical Society, where she will be responsible for the Native American, numismatics, and arts & crafts collections.
Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Anderson, Spokane, and a 1967 graduate of West Valley High School, was the 1994 recipient of the Decorative Arts Society’s Charles F. Montgomery Award.
Kathy Christiansen, Mead, has been named state chair of the Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities and Their Families.
Christiansen, who is employed as regional coordinator of early childhood programs by Educational Service District 101, Spokane, will be responsible for leading a 25-member board which advises state agencies on the delivery of service to infant and toddlers with disablities.
Mone’t Lee, a 1995 graduate of Shadle Park High School, is one of five recipients of the $1,500 Eastern Washington University Chicano Education Program Scholarships for the 1995-96 school year. The scholarships are given to deserving students at the university.
Lee, granddaughter of Stella Lee, Spokane, is a freshman nursing major. She was a member of her high school tennis team, National Honor Society and was a Sunday school teacher.
Jade Carol Ashley, William Buckholdt, Ryan Reed Fievez, Casey Lynn Lund, Shayna Elaine Lund, Erika Lynn McCray, Jessica Ann Menard, Eric Sven Shafer, Shannon Ray Smith, and Michelle Dawn Stephens, all of Spokane, are on the first term Dean’s List at Northwest Nazarene College. Students must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average or better.
