Mickelson Comes From Behind To Capture Third Nortel Open
Phil Mickelson, completing his rally with a chip-in birdie on No. 18, won his second straight Nortel Open on Sunday, the third time in six years he has captured the tournament.
Tucson National, at Tuscon, Ariz., again proved compatible with Mickelson, who came from two shots back to win the $1.25 million tournament by two strokes.
He carded a 5-under-par 67 for a four-day total of 14-under 273 to beat runner-up Bob Tway.
Liselotte Neumann set records for low score and largest margin of victory in winning the LPGA’s season-opening Tournament of Champions by 11 strokes in Orlando, Fla.
Leading since the first round, the Swede completed her runaway victory with a 2-under-par 70 for a 13-under total of 275. Rookie Karrie Webb finished second at 286.
