Man Confesses To Eighth Killing

The man known as the Happy Face Killer has written another letter, this time confessing to strangling a woman at a Florida highway rest stop when she woke him up screaming in the cab of his truck.

“I plead guilty to the death of Susanne,” Keith Hunter Jesperson wrote in a three-page letter received Wednesday by the Statesman Journal newspaper.

Jesperson has been sentenced to three life terms with 30-year minimums for the murders of two women in Oregon and another in Washington. In all, he has confessed to killing eight women in five states.

A former long-haul truck driver, Jesperson remained in the Clark County Jail in Vancouver, Wash., today awaiting transfer to Oregon to begin serving his Oregon prison sentences.
