Children Locked Inside Toy Store
A child’s dream come true became a parent’s nightmare.
Two boys were accidentally locked in a Toys R Us store and spent the night playing while 150 volunteers searched for them.
Police Sgt. Richard Longpre said Antony Cerezo, 8, and his brother Jerome, 6, were found safe but hungry Monday morning when manager Michel Legault opened the store in this city across the Ottawa River from Ottawa.
At the height of the search, police brought in helicopters equipped with infrared sensors and police canine units.
Longpre said the boys went to the store by themselves Sunday afternoon, fell asleep in a playhouse and were locked in when the store closed.
