Senn To Hold Hearing On Health Insurance

From Staff And Wire Reports

Washington Insurance Commissioner Deborah Senn, who is waging a running battle with health insurance companies in the state, will hold a town meeting on the issues in Spokane on Wednesday.

Citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions about any health-insurance issue at the two-hour hearing, which begins at 6 p.m. in the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone.<

One issue receiving a lot of attention is the availability of health insurance to individuals not eligible for group coverage through their employer or another organization.

Senn helped draft a bill, SB 6353, that would require insurers to sell individual health policies if they want to sell health insurance in the state.About 400,000 state residents are covered by individual plans.
