Investigator Dies In ‘Bigfoot’ Hunt

A Chinese investigator has died while searching for “Bigfoot” in a remote area of northern China, the official Xinhua News Agency said Friday.

Yu Gong’s death in a traffic accident was the most recent in a series of setbacks for Chinese researchers hoping to prove that the legendary creature exists, Xinhua said.

A highly publicized hunt for Bigfoot last spring turned up no important findings, it said. A subsequent plan to launch big balloons carrying infrared cameras to search for the wild man failed, team leader Wang Fangchen said.

Yu had been hunting for Bigfoot for over 10 years.
