Tennessee Bachelor Claims Powerball Jackpot

Compiled From Wire Services

A 34-year-old Tennessee man became one of America’s wealthiest bachelors Friday when he stepped forward to claim a $89.3 million Powerball jackpot.

Kent Miller of Madison, Tenn., received a ceremonial oversized check from Kentucky Lottery Corp. officials.

Flanked by his two brothers, Keith and Kenneth, and his lawyers, Miller said he did not yet have any concrete plans for spending the money other than building a new home for his mother, Ocie Miller of Indianapolis.

“I feel blessed by God,” Miller said.

He said he would not be returning to his job as a purchasing agent for the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Miller said his mother did go to work in Indianapolis Friday, but he hoped it would be her last day.
