Big West Conference commissioner Dennis Farrell said some comments by Long Beach State basketball coach Seth Greenberg after he found an anti-semitic message inside the visitors’ locker room at New Mexico State were unnecessary.

“It is clear that despite the personal attack incurred by coach Greenberg, some of his postgame conference comments were unnecessary,” Farrell said.

The conference received a report from New Mexico State on the anti-semitic message aimed at Greenberg and his allegation that his players were subjected to racial slurs during the game in Las Cruces on Jan. 22.
