Myrtle ‘Ann’ Carothers Kellogg

Memorial service for Myrtle Annette “Ann” Carothers, 83, will be held today at 11 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carothers, who was born in Colville, Wash., died Wednesday, She graduated from the A & M University of Stillwater, Okla., and received a master’s degree in economics.

She moved to the Silver Valley in 1946 from Mississippi and was a teacher at Burke Elementary School near Wallace, before retiring in 1979.

Mrs. Carothers later worked at the old YMCA building.

She was a charter member of the Kellogg/Pinehurst Golf Course, and a was member of the American Lutheran Church of Kellogg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gil.

Survivors include two sons, Jonathan Carothers of Kellogg and Thomas Carothers; two brothers, Robert Montgomery of Libby, Mont., and Dan Montgomery of Priest Lake, Idaho; and two sisters, Blanche Goodfellow and Mary Pittman, both of Colville.

Paul Jones Spokane

Graveside service for Paul H. Jones, 85, will be at 10 a.m. today at Riverside Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones, who died Wednesday, was born in Connell, Wash.

He worked as a camp superintendent at oil fields for many companies including MorrisonKnudsen. He spent 30 years in South America with his job.

He had lived in Spokane for 17 years.

He is survived by a sister, Glenadena Darling of Mead.

Richard Lee Coeur d’Alene

Service for Richard E. Lee, 58, will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Mr. Lee, who was born in Genesee, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He went to school in Genesee and went on to attend Lewis-Clark State College for a year and a half.

Mr. Lee later moved to Coeur d’Alene and worked for Snyders Bakery in Spokane for 32 years, before retiring due to illness.

He served on the Commission for the Parks and Recreation Department in Coeur d’Alene for 10 years and was chairman from 1976 to 1983.

He coached flag football, junior tackle football and church league basketball for many years and also umpired softball.

Survivors include his wife, Carole; two sons, James Lee of Post Falls and William Lee of Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane; three daughters, Lisa Lee of Athol, Idaho, Leslie Wild of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, and Laura Grant of Port Orchard, Wash.; two brothers, Don Lee of Otis Orchards and David Lee of Virginia; one sister, Dorothy Allen of Post Falls; and 11 grandchildren.

James ‘Harold’ Healy Pullman

Memorial service for James “Harold” Healy, 80, will be at 9 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pullman. Kimball Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Healy, who died Wednesday at Pullman Memorial Hospital, was born in Kirksville, Mo.

He married Margaret Danekas in 1940 in Ritzville, Wash. They lived in Ritzville and Colfax, before moving to Pullman in 1955.

Mr. Healy worked for the Whitman County treasurers office in Colfax, and then for Capital Financial Services for 25 years.

After he retired, he opened Washington State Employees Credit Union at Washington State University and retired again several years later.

He was a member of the Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Cougar Club, Elks Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mr. Healy is survived by his wife; two sons, Tim Healy of Olympia and Patrick Healy of Redwood Valley, Calif.; three daughters, Pam Kauffman of Denver, Linda Kay Fagg of Wenatchee and Peggy Sanderson of Shelton, Wash.; two brothers, Hugh Healy of Clearwater, Fla., and Jack Healy of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Gray of Manhattan, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Beverly (Bell) Benson Veradale

Private service for Beverly (Bell) Benson, 66, will be held at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Benson, who died June 29, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School, and worked at The Crescent department store and later worked for Ken Bush Drygoods Store.

She was a member of Valley Assembly of God.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard Benson; a son, William Benson of Spokane; a daughter, Joan Stewart of Spokane; a brother, Jon Bell of Buffalo, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

James Mitchell Wallace

Memorial service for James Floyd Mitchell, 40, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River behind the Y Bar. A potluck barbecue will be held at 149 King St., in Wallace.

Mr. Mitchell, who was born in Wallace, died Monday in Everett.

Survivors include his fiance, Mary Robinson of Marysville, Wash; four sons, Dominick, Mitchell, Derek and Dallas Connors, all of Wallace; his parents, Babe and Doris Streeter of Wallace, and Jess and Pat Mitchell of Colfax, Wash.; three brothers, Terry Mitchell of Arizona, Ken Mitchell of Colfax and John Streeter of Wallace; three sisters, Kay Keane of Post Falls, and Lynn and Jan Mitchell, both of Colfax.

Memorials may be made to the Wallace Swimming Pool.

Rose Mary Giammona Spokane

Vigil service for Rose Mary Giammona, 60, will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Giammona, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

She was a member of St. Anthony Parish and St. Ann’s Guild at St. Joseph Parish. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Anthony “Tony” Giammona; two sons, Carmine “Nick” Giammona of West Milford, N.J., and Anthony “Tony” Giammona Jr., of Spokane; two daughters, Debra Ann Giammona of LaJolla, Calif., and Katherine Brewer of Spokane; three brothers, Bill, John and Gerald Atkinson all of Spokane; two sisters, Virginia Moore of Grenada Hills, Calif., and Marie Jorgenson of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Keith Campbell Cheney

Service for Donald Keith Campbell, 51, is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene in Cheney. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cheney. Cheney Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Campbell, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday in Cheney.

He graduated from East Valley High School and retired from the Washington State Patrol after 28 years, having worked as a trooper and detective.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Campbell; two sons, Richard Campbell of Cheney, and Michael Campbell of Spokane; a daughter, Heather DuVarney of Spokane; a sister, Joan Martin of Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheney Care Center or Hospice of Spokane.

Richard Stoudt Spokane

Service for Richard C. “Dick” Stoudt, 71, was Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. There was private inurnment.

Mr. Stoudt, who was born in Leavenworth, Wash., died Tuesday.

He was a 43-year Spokane resident and worked for URM for 33 years as a truck driver. He retired in 1987.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Eagles Lodge No. 2, and served with the 101st Airborne paratroopers during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peg” Stoudt; two sons, Dick Stoudt of Nine Mile Falls and Bob Stoudt of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Lynda Baker and Teri Bauer, both of Spokane; a brother, Ron Stoudt of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Frances Noerenberg of Port Orchard, Wash.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mabel Ingman Spokane

Service for Mabel W. Ingman, 97, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ingman, who died Monday, was born in Hope, N.D.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane for 76 years.

She was a member of Five Mile Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ingman.

Mrs. Ingman is survived by a daughter, Joan Gintz of Deer Park; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Milton Wing Mica

No service will be held for Milton D. Wing, 60, at his request. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wing, who was born in Rockford, died Wednesday.

He graduated from Rockford High School.

He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union, and worked as a meat department manager for various supermarket chains for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Wing; two sons, Milton Wing Jr. of Hauser Lake, Idaho, and Patrick Wing of Mica; a daughter, Marilyn Brown of Spokane; and two sisters, Carol Sheard of Post Falls and Ann Tiedeman of Moses Lake.

Cleta Blatt Everett

Memorial service for Cleta L. Blatt, 63, was Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish, Wash. Inurnment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Blatt, who was born in Ritzville, Wash., died Sunday in an Everett nursing home.

She had lived in Spokane most of her life before she moved to Everett in 1991.

She worked as a secretary and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Kerr of Lynnwood, Wash., and Kay Thomsen of Everett; a son, Richard Blatt of Lynnwood; a brother, Daryl Heimbigner of Spokane; three sisters, Sylvia Henson of Valley, Wash., Jackie Daly of Spokane and Sherri Fisher of Latah, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Mark Hall Spokane

Memorial service for Mark Anthony Hall, 41, was Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital Chapel.

Mr. Hall, a 34-year Spokane resident, died Monday.

He was born in Houston and grew up in Spokane.

Mr. Hall served in the Army, and worked as a laborer.

Survivors include his former wife, Jeanette of Spokane; his mother, June Williams of Spokane; his children, Cory Hall of Bremerton, and John, Josh and Janae Stillwell, all of Spokane; three brothers, Monte, David and Scott, all of Spokane; two sisters, and Julie and Sharon, both of Spokane.
